Please note: This position can be based in Atlanta, GA or Greensboro, NC. Travel will be 50-75%.
Major Purpose of Job:
The Satellite Operations Director is responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality service to meet technical and quality requirements as well as operational and financial targets for 25 rapid response laboratories within the Southeast region. Implements corporate policies and standard operating procedures. Oversees the development of systematic approaches for assuring the highest levels of quality and service to internal and external customers. Acts as the onsite leader for all spoke operations and has overall responsibility for the facility.
Principal Duties:
Directs and coordinates laboratory activities to ensure that services are provided on schedule with quality and cost objectives.
Supervises manager of regional rapid response laboratories.
Ensures that all laboratory activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations and laws.
Develops and trains personnel within the laboratory and reviews and appraises their performance
Establishes laboratory organization, plan and delegate responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities for performance.
Creates and evaluates new procedures and equipment for potential use in the laboratory and recommends new procedures and equipment where necessary.
Directs, coordinates, and oversees major unit projects to the best economic advantage of the organization.
Leads by example in effectively demonstrating Our New Behaviors and the Leading Quest Competencies; fosters an environment that demonstrates a commitment to performance excellence and employee engagement.
Collaborates with internal (corporate, regional and local functional leaders) and external resources (vendors, contractors) to ensure consistent delivery of quality services and continuous quality improvement.
Maintains local market knowledge of competitor service offerings and make recommendations to improve our service.
Partners with commercial group to visits new and existing clients regularly to understand their requirements and explain how we can provide the expected support; provide insights which helps secure new business.
Ensures achievement of performance metrics such as turnaround time, laboratory TNPs, safety, revised reports, or other metrics identified as key to the laboratory's success.
Provides strategic oversight for processes which track, trend and analyze data for purposes of resolving root causes of problems and deploying solutions across appropriate customer base.
Sets short and long term operational and service objectives for the satellite laboratory.
Contributes to operational effectiveness and efficiency through active participation on national Laboratory Operations teams (sharing best practices, developing new initiatives, deploying new technology and procedures, etc.)
Job Specifications:
BS/BA required; ASCP certification preferred
5+ years of professional experience in leadership role in a laboratory
Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated success in overseeing a large department or function, with direct impact on service metrics and financial results

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
