As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our organization.
Working closely with our CFO, you will lead a team of two skilled accountants to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient processes, and adherence to accounting standards.
Your expertise in finance and accounting will play a vital role in guiding the financial decision-making process and supporting the overall success of our business.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise a team of two accountants, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to maximize their effectiveness and professional development.
Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, financial statements, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
Develop and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing key insights and recommendations to the CFO and executive team to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as operations and sales, to gather financial data, analyze trends, and provide insights to drive business performance and operational efficiencies.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial statements and regulatory filings.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance and providing necessary documentation.
Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance and optimize financial processes.
Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models and tools to support business forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CFO, contributing financial expertise and analysis to drive successful outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
Proficient in using accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; experience with QuickBooks or similar software is preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to manage and develop a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.
